My counselling philosophy

I am a person-centred counsellor. I strive to embody the values of authenticity, empathy and unconditional acceptance that can be an amazing vehicle for healing in therapy. I work with loss, bereavement, depression, anxiety, PTS(D), mental health (dis)orders such as bipolar and obsessive-compulsive, suicidal thoughts, addictions, sex and sexuality and self-harm. I am open to working

My training have emphasised to me the importance of living with integrity and respect for oneself and others. I bring these values into counselling work and place you, the client, at the centre of your own journey. I walk with you through your thoughts, feelings and emotions; offering reflection or invitation to explore, to help you gain insight and find the answers I believe are within you.

What does counselling look like? We may just sit and talk; sometimes we could use art therapy; we could take our session outside and go for a walk to be in nature, instead.

A session is one hour. I work in three different settings Monday - Wednesday. I work until 8 pm on a Monday, in a dedicated therapy space. On Tuesday I offer low-cost sessions in a community setting. On Wednesday, the therapy space is informal and homely. Please bear these differences in mind when enquiring.

I believe that developing a trusting, safe relationship in counselling can be the catalyst for real and lasting change in your life. This is my offer to you: a relationship of openness in which you can feel safe to be, heal and move forwards, to live the life you deserve.
